The second person is Lot. When Lot was in the city of Sodom, he was told by God to leave. Lot listened to God and because he left when God asked him to he survived God destroying Sodom
The final person is an example of what happens when a person does not show up when asked. This person is Jonah. Jonah was asked by God to go to the city of Nineveh and warn them that they were being wicked and if they did not stop God would destroy them. Johan did not want to go. So he boarded a ship and tried to sail in the opposite direction. God punished Jonah by having him swallowed by a whale for three days and nights. If he had listened to God he would not have been punished so.
This is why it is good to show up where we have said we would and at the time we have said.

I think it is very important to make sure you go were you are supposed to be when you told them you would be there. I also think that It is very important to go where you should and do what you should when you told them you would. I think a man whos word is good is worth more than a man who is not a man of his word. It is very important to do what you say you are gonna do an not bail on friends, or anything for that matter.
ReplyDeleteI think showing up in the right place and the right time is quite important. The example the Jonah really plays well for that argument, and I really enjoy your other examples as well. Needless to say it is quite important to do what you said you were going to do. However, I want to put it out there that I feel as though not showing up or not doing it, and then proceeding to do so later can be h=just as bad. Namely, because it makes you untrustworthy but unreliable as well because sometimes you may be there on time. But in other situations you won't be. To be unreliable and untrustworthy is twice as bad at that point and its something I never personally want to see myself fall into. I'm rambling, but I'm furthering the post in this direction is also helpful, but at the end of teh day I could not agree more
